2024 Industry Awards Results: 2024 Annual Yukon Geoscience Forum & Trade Snow

Whitehorse, Yukon – Last evening, the 52nd Annual Yukon Geoscience Forum & Trade Show Awards Banquet was held, bringing together hundreds of industry professionals to celebrate innovation, environmental stewardship and commitment to responsible mining.

Several awards were handed out, including the Yukon Government Robert E. Leckie Awards, which honour the late geographer and mining inspector who passed away in 1999. His legacy stems from a passion for innovation, collaboration between governments and industry, and the development of progressive land use practices for mining and reclamation.

The Yukon Chamber of Mines also presented the organization’s Community, Member and First Nation in Mining Awards. A silent auction benefited Every Student, Every Day to help increase student attendance in Yukon schools and a live auction raised funds for the Yukon Imagination Library pre-school literacy program.

A complete list of the award recipients and highlights of their recognized achievements is included below.

“The Annual Yukon Geoscience Forum & Trade Show Awards Banquet is a definite highlight for our industry,” says Yukon Chamber of Mines Executive Director Jonas Smith. “We extend our sincere congratulations to all the award winners and our thanks to them for their work and their dedication to responsible exploration and mining. It is people like this who are the strength of the Yukon’s industry and provide us all with inspiration.”
